Throughout the Yucatan Peninsula there are several cenotes.
According to government information, these crystalline water wells are perhaps the most interesting and relevant natural phenomenon in Yucatan.
CENOTE OPEN
This type of cenote is usually exposed to the surface and its walls are usually cylindrical to facilitate the entrance of the sun.
CENOTE CLOSED
This cenote is characterized for being completely subway and for the little light that enters them. This does not detract from the fact that its waters are turquoise or emerald green in color and this can be perceived if any type of light, whether natural or electric, is used.
SEMI-OPEN CENOTE
These are those that conserve the characteristics of an open cenote, however, the difference is that the upper part usually has a slightly narrower opening, but the sunlight still enters with some ease.
